    Visit to a zoo

    Visit to a zoo

Last Sunday, Rani came to my house. We decided to visit to zoo. At about nine we reached the Zoo. We bought the tickets and entered the gate.

A zoo is indeed a world in itself. It is a world of wild animals and birds, made artificially by man. Sparrows and parrots of different kinds and colors were the first to welcome us. There were also pigeons and cuckoos of different breeds.

The deer and the monkeys were wandering freely. They were kept in a small wood bounded by a stream. My friend was frightened to see a crocodile. The tigers looked awful basking in the sun.

To visit to the zoo, is indeed an inspiring experience. It will always remain fresh in my memory.

    Henry Louis Vivian Derozio

Henry Louis Derozio (1809-31) was an Indian only in the sense that his mother was an Indian, for his father was Portuguese.

Indian poetry in English may be said to have begun with this talented young man who was also a teacher of poetry who inspired in his pupils a great love for the language and literature of England.

Unfortunately Derozio died young, at twenty-one. Though from his father Derozio had inherited a strong prejudice against Hindus and Hinduism, he had inherited from his mother a great love for India.

A Scene inside an Examination Hall

A Scene inside an Examination Hall

The scene inside an Examination Hall is typically very calm and quiet. But it is only an outward calm. Behind this calm there is no peace. Each heart is restless. There is anxiety on every face.

Good students are anxious to finish their paper in time. The average ones are anxious to attempt as many q they of students. They are anxious to copy from whatever source they can. It is the activities of those students that make the scene inside an examination hall quite interesting.

Sometimes they are caught using unfair means. Their cases are then reported to the Education Board.
