Subject: Inhuman practice of corporeal punishment in educational institutions

Sir,

May I request you kindly to allow me a little space in your esteemed daily to ventilate my grievances about the inhuman practice of corporeal punishment in educational institutions? I am going to raise my voice against Corporeal Punishment.

With a view to cause physical punishment to a person, a Corporeal Punishment is always considered foremost as a method of severe punishment. Hence, Corporeal Punishment is a mode of physical punishment. And this type of punishment is even noticed in various institutions either in school, colleges or even in prison.

However, corporeal punishment for crimes or injuries, including flogging, branding, and even mutilation, has been practiced in most civilizations since ancient times. But with the development of humanitarian ideals since the Enlightenment, such punishments are increasingly seen as inhumane especially in Western society.

Though, the corporeal punishment had been eliminated from the legal system of most developed countries, still it prevails in various educational institutions. Hence my earnest request, through your esteemed daily, to the departmental heads of those institutions that goad on Corporeal Punishment as a proper mode of punishment. I request you to publish this letter in your reputed and high profile daily so that authorities may wake up in this situation to take necessary action.
