The 2022–23 NBA Finals was the championship series of the National Basketball Association's (NBA) 2022–23 season and conclusion of the season's playoffs. The Western Conference champion Denver Nuggets defeated the Eastern Conference champion Miami Heat, four games to two, for their first championship since 2009.

The Nuggets were led by their star duo of Nikola Jokić and Jamal Murray. Jokić was named the NBA Finals MVP, averaging 33.8 points, 14.7 rebounds, and 7.9 assists per game. Murray averaged 25.0 points and 5.8 assists per game.

The Heat were led by Jimmy Butler. Butler averaged 30.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game. Bam Adebayo averaged 19.8 points and 10.6 rebounds per game.

The series was close throughout, with each team winning two games on their home court. The Nuggets won Game 5 in Miami to clinch the series.

The Nuggets' victory was their first NBA championship since 2009. They are the 16th different team to win the NBA championship since 2000.

The Nuggets' victory was a major upset, as the Heat were the heavy favorites to win the series. The Nuggets' victory was also a major accomplishment for Jokić, who became the first player to win the NBA MVP award and the NBA Finals MVP award in the same season since Stephen Curry in 2015.
