At the age of 10, his family immigrated to Australia in 2004, where he would later establish himself as a prominent member of the Australian cricket team. Labuschagne excels as a batter and represents his country in Test matches and ODIs.

Labuschagne's journey in cricket began with his first-class debut for Queensland during the 2014-2015 Sheffield Shield season. Impressively, he scored 83 runs in his initial innings and ended the season with 351 runs, boasting an average of 31.00. Such notable performances earned him recognition as the Queensland Emerging Player of the Year.

In November 2018, Labuschagne made his Test debut for Australia, replacing Steve Smith, who was serving a suspension due to ball tampering.
