In the state of Texas, USA these days, nature has wreaked havoc. On the night of July 4, 2025, sudden Flash Flood caused havoc in many areas. Guadalupe River rose up to 8 to 9 meters in just 45 minutes. So far 25 people have died due to this flood and many people are said to be missing.
Trouble on camp mistake
The most concern is about Camp Mystic, where more than 23 students are still missing. All of them came to participate in a summer camp. Due to the sudden flash flood alert, many of the camps of the camp were swept away in the river or drowned in water. So far the rescue team is busy searching day and night.
Why did such a severe flood come?
According to meteorologists, the main reason for this flood was:
- Hot Gulf of Mexico excessive steam
- Effect of Tropical Storm Barry
- "Training thunderstorms" means torrential rains at the same place
Many parts of Texas received 6–18 inches of rain in just 24 hours, which is many times more than normal.
Government preparation and relief work
Texas Governor GREG Abbott has declared a disaster in the affected areas. Rescuers are transporting people to safe places with the help of helicopters and boats. So far 237 people have been rescued, out of which 167 were evacuated by helicopter.
The President has also approved Federal help so that relief and reconstruction work can be done quickly.
How much damage was done?
From this flood:
- Thousands of houses and mobile homes were wasted or ruined.
- Hundreds of animals drowned in water and died.
- Roads and bridges suffered heavy losses.
