'Face Mask' – protect yourself from COVID19 - Process Writing

How to prepare Masks

 Preparation of 'Face-mask'

COVID-19 is mainly protracted from person to person through droplets of breath. Breathing drops travel through the air when you cough, sneeze, talk, shout or sing. These drops can then enter the mouths or noses of people close to you or they can breathe these drops.

Masks are a common barrier to help prevent your breathing drops from reaching others. Studies show that masks reduce the spray of drops on the nose and face later on. You should take off your mask later even if you don’t feel sick. This is because many studies have shown that people with COVID-19 never develop symptoms (infected) and those who do not yet show symptoms can still spread the virus to other people.

The main task of wearing a mask is to protect the people around you, even if you are infected, do not show symptoms. COVID-19 is especially important to keep a mask on if you can't stay at least 6 feet away from others after it has spread among people in close contact with each other (about 6 feet).

Masks are the key to controlling infection and saving lives. Masks reduce the risk of potential exposure to an infected person. People wearing masks are protected from infection. Masks prevent infection in advance after being worn by an infected person. Masks should be used as part of a broader ‘Do it!’ daily approach. You should maintain physical social distance; avoid crowds, closed and intimate contact settings, improving ventilation, cleaning hands, covering sneezing and coughing, and more.

To prevent COVID19, learn the step-by-step method to make a mask at home.

How to prepare Masks

At first, to make a face mask you need a clean cotton cloth and a sewing machine or needle-thread. In this case, old but clean cotton cloth can be used to make masks. However, before making the mask, the cloth should be boiled in water and dried in the sun. To make a mask for adults, you have to cut the cloth to the size of 9 inches by 8 inches. Also, for children, you have to cut the cloth measuring 6 inches by 5 inches.

Next for making the straps and piping of the mask, you have to cut 4 strips measuring 1.5 inches by 5 inches from the cloth. Therefore, fold the cloth and make three downward plates and sew them. The plates will be 1.5 wide each. Now, turn the cloth over the plate and make the plate at this end as before. When the plate-sewing phase is over, the size of the fabric will be reduced from 9 inches to 5 inches. Put piping on the plates and sew on both sides of the cloth. Now sew a 40 inch long strap on the piece of cloth and attach it, with which it can be tied up and down the face. Then fold the traps three times again and sew.

Carefully observe if the mask can cover your nose and chin. After wearing the mask, check if there is any gap. Do not use the mask again after using it once. After use, wash the mask well with soapy water and dry it in the sun. In that case the mask will be reusable. For those who do not have the ability to sew at home, they can make a temporary mask with the help of a handkerchief and a pair of elastic bands. Be sure to use a mask when outdoors.
