Soil Pollution

The main sources of soil pollution are agriculture, industries and biomedical wastes. Residual of dead plants, animal excreta pollute land and water bodies.

Some of the major polluting agents are the mines, iron and steel industries, oil refineries, paper and pulp mills, textile mills, factories producing cement, pesticides, dyes and paints. Thermal power stations produced vast quantities of fly ash.

Biomedical wastes are generated by hospitals, clinics and nursing homes. Such wastes contain dangerous chemicals. Waste from households, shops, markets, offices, schools etc. comprise a major source of soil pollution in urban areas.

To reduce soil pollution the waste generated by industries, farms and households must be recycled. The solution of the problem lies in a concerted effort by the concerned authorities, the government and the people in general.

Soil Pollution

Organic waste from agriculture, industry and medicine is a major source of land pollution. Dead plants and animal waste contaminate land and water.

The main sources of soil pollution are mines, iron and steel industries, refineries, paper mills, textile mills and factories that produce cement, pesticides, and various types of paints. Huge amounts of light ash come out of thermal power projects.

Huge amounts of organic waste come out from various hospitals, government hospitals and nursing homes. All these wastes contain a variety of hazardous chemicals. In urban areas, people's homes, shops, markets, office schools, etc. are the main source of land pollution.

In order to control the role, various industrial, agricultural farms, and all the wastes that come out of the house have to be reused. This problem can only be solved through the concerted efforts of the concerned authorities, the government and also the people.
