Damar Hamlin, an American football player, currently serves as a safety for the Buffalo Bills in the National Football League (NFL). He played collegiate football at the University of Pittsburgh and was chosen by the Bills in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Born in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, Hamlin attended McKees Rocks High School. He garnered attention as a four-star recruit and committed to playing college football at the University of Pittsburgh, receiving offers from various schools, including Penn State, Ohio State, and Michigan.

During his four seasons at Pittsburgh, Hamlin demonstrated his skills on the field. He started 31 out of 48 games, amassing 145 tackles, 10 interceptions, and 10 passes defensed. His impressive performance earned him a spot on the All-ACC Second Team in 2020.

In the 2021 NFL Draft, Hamlin was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the sixth round. Initially serving as a backup safety in his rookie season, he eventually became the team's starting safety in 2022 due to Micah Hyde's season-ending injury. Throughout that year, Hamlin recorded 75 tackles, two interceptions, and two passes defensed.

Unfortunately, on January 2, 2023, Hamlin suffered a heart attack following a tackle in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He was swiftly taken to the hospital, underwent surgery, and was discharged a few days later after making a complete recovery.

In addition to his football career, Hamlin is also involved in the world of fashion as an entrepreneur. While attending the University of Pittsburgh, he launched a successful fashion line that generated millions. Furthermore, he initiated an annual Christmas toy drive for charity in his hometown of McKees Rocks.

Hamlin is regarded as a rising star in the NFL, showcasing his talent as a safety and exhibiting a promising future. He serves as an inspiration and role model for young athletes, proving that with dedication and perseverance, anything is attainable.
