Happy Dussehra, 2023! Dussehra according to the story of Ramayana

Happy Dussehra, 2023! Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashami, is a Hindu festival that celebrates the victory of good over evil. It is one of the most important Hindu festivals and is celebrated all over India with great enthusiasm and devotion.

Dussehra falls on the tenth day of the Hindu lunar month of Ashwin, which usually falls in September or October. Today, on October 24, 2023 Dussehra is being celebrated with much pomp and joy.

👉  Importance of ‘Dussehra’ according to the story of Ramayana

Dussehra marks the celebration of Lord Rama's triumph over the demon king Ravana. According to the Ramayana, Ravana kidnapped Rama's wife, Sita, and took her to his kingdom, Lanka. Rama, along with his brother Lakshmana and his obedient follower Hanuman, set out to rescue Sita. After a long and fierce battle, Rama finally defeated Ravana and rescued Sita.

Dussehra is a reminder that good events will always triumph over evil, and that dharma (righteousness) will always prevail over adharma (unrighteousness). It is also a time to celebrate the victory of justice over injustice and of truth over falsehood.

The story of the Ramayana is a powerful reminder of the importance of good values such as courage, perseverance, and faith. It also teaches us that it is important to stand up for what is right, even in the face of great adversity.

Dussehra is a time to reflect on these values and to recommit ourselves to following them in our own lives. It is also a time to celebrate the triumph of good over evil, and to look forward to a brighter future.
