Milton Powell dies
Houston rapper Milton Powell, better known by his stage name Big Pokey, was an American rapper from Houston, Texas. He was associated with chopped and screwed music, and was one of the original members of the Screwed Up Click.
He was born on November 29, 1977, and died on June 18, 2023, after collapsing onstage during a performance in Beaumont, Texas. He was 45 years old.
Pokey was a founding member of the Screwed Up Click collective, and was known for his freestyle skills and his contributions to the Houston hip-hop scene. He released several albums and mixtapes throughout his career, and was a respected figure in the community.
