Usefulness of Travelling

Traveling, it is said, is part and parcel of education. It makes our bookish knowledge concrete and vivid. It makes us acquainted with different kinds of people and thus enlarges our outlook. It puts us in different critical situations which we learn to face by exercising our own abilities.

History and Geography become living objects when we visit places of historical interest or splendid natural scenes. Traveling stimulates fellow-feeling, universal brotherhood, love and tolerance. It removes prejudices from one’s mind and makes one perfectly educated and a man of culture. It aptly justifies the statement of Alexander Pope who wrote, “The proper study of mankind is man’’.

The reason to travel is not just to go explore new places but to introspect ourselves as well. We ponder over our thoughts and loosen up ourselves, neither caring about the past nor the future. It’s the present what we live. To some traveling is just recreation and fun, but for others, it is when we feel ourselves a free soul.
