Cyclone Biparjoy: ' Biparjoy ' is moving at a fast pace

Flights are cancelled, major alert in 6 districts

New Delhi: Biparjoy is in progress. Administration becomes very careful. Gujarat government has already deployed NDRF and SDRF in coastal areas. According to the Meteorological Department, the cyclonic storm may intensify and make landfall on June 15 between Kutch and Karachi, Pakistan. Relief camps have already been arranged in six districts.

The Central Government has already discussed with the Gujarat administration on an urgent basis. Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla on Sunday spoke to the Gujarat government about preparations related to dealing with the cyclone.

The cyclone was located over the East-Central Arabian Sea at 11:30 PM IST on Sunday. A yellow alert has been issued for Saurashtra and Kutch coast. According to the IMD (India Meteorological Department) forecast, a very strong cyclonic Biparjoy will hit the land on June 15, 2023.

On Sunday, the Biparjoy turned into a super cyclone. This time, the speed will become more intense as the wind blows over the Arabian Sea. Finally, it may make landfall between Gujarat's Kutch district and Pakistan's Karachi at breakneck speed.

Cyclone Biparjoy has started to affect Maharashtra. Gusty winds of 45 to 55 kmph are likely to affect several places in Maharashtra including Thane, Raigarh, Mumbai and Palghar on Monday. Along with this, there is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall.

As the cyclone got stronger, the sea was rough in Mumbai on Monday morning. Mumbai and several parts of Maharashtra received rain on Sunday night. This rain will continue on Monday.

Several Air India flights will take off late on Monday as a warning of the cyclone. Some flights are also being cancelled.
