Nawabshah district, Pakistan: On Sunday, August 6, 2023, a train derailment occurred in Pakistan when the Hazara Express, which was traveling from Karachi to Rawalpindi, derailed near the Sarhari Railway Station in Nawabshah district. According to the news reports, the train accident in Pakistan happened at 11:30 AM (PST). The accident killed at least 30 people and injured over 80 others.

The cause of the derailment is still under investigation, but it is believed that the train may have been traveling at excessive speed when it hit a curve in the track. The impact of the derailment caused several coaches of the train to overturn, trapping passengers inside.

Rescue workers were quickly dispatched to the scene of the accident, and they were able to free many of the trapped passengers. However, several people were killed in the accident, and others were seriously injured.
