Submarine Titan exploring Titanic wreck went on Missing!

A search is underway for a tourist submarine that went missing off the coast of south-eastern Canada on Sunday. The submarine, which is operated by OceanGate Expeditions, was on a mission to explore the wreckage of the Titanic when it lost contact with the surface. The five people on board the submarine include the British billionaire Hamish Harding, who is the founder of OceanGate Expeditions.

The submarine, called the Titan, is a five-person submersible that can dive to depths of up to 12,500 feet. It is equipped with a variety of sensors and cameras that allow passengers to view the Titanic wreck in real time. It is designed to carry up to five people and has a four-day supply of oxygen.

The submarine was on a mission to explore the wreckage of the Titanic, which sank in 1912 after striking an iceberg. The Titanic is located about 400 miles off the coast of Newfoundland.

The Titan was last seen on Monday morning, June 19, 2023, at approximately 10:00 a.m. NST (Newfoundland Standard Time). It was scheduled to return to the surface at 1:00 p.m. NST, but it never did. The Coast Guard was notified of the missing submarine at about 12:30 p.m. EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) on Sunday. The Coast Guard immediately launched a search for the submarine.

The U.S. Coast Guard is leading the search for the submarine, which is being assisted by the Canadian Coast Guard and the Royal Canadian Navy. The search is being conducted in an area of the Atlantic Ocean that is about 400 miles off the coast of Newfoundland. The water in this area is about 12,500 feet deep.

The Coast Guard has deployed a number of resources to the search, including helicopters, planes, and boats. The Coast Guard is also using sonar to scan the ocean floor.

The submarine lost contact with the surface at about 11:45 a.m. EDT on Sunday. The crew of the Polar Prince, the research vessel that was carrying the submarine, tried to contact the submarine by radio, but there was no response.

As of the time of this writing, the search is ongoing and there has been no sign of the submarine or its crew. The Coast Guard has said that it is still too early to say what happened to the submarine, but they are hopeful that the crew will be found safe.
