Stolen in broad daylight in Kolkata, goods worth millions missing

Kolkata, 8 May 2025 - A large incident of theft has come to light in a flat on Thursday afternoon in the Salt Lake area of the metropolis. No one was present in the house at the time of the incident, taking advantage of which unknown thieves carried out the incident.

The landlord Shri Arun Sarkar went out at a family program with his family. When he returned home at around 6 pm, the door was found broken. The goods were scattered inside the house and the cupboard was open.

According to the information received, the number of robbers is said to be three, which are captured in CCTV footage. The thieves have stolen goods worth about Rs 5 lakh, including gold jewelry, cash, a laptop, and precious watches.

Police reached the spot and started investigating. The forensic team has taken fingers and footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby is being searched. Police officials said that soon the accused will be identified and arrested.

There is an atmosphere of fear among the local residents after the incident. He has demanded the police to increase the security system in the area.

বাড়ির মালিক শ্রী অরুণ সরকার তাঁর পরিবারের সঙ্গে একটি অনুষ্ঠানে গিয়েছিলেন। সন্ধ্যা ৬টার দিকে বাড়ি ফিরলে দরজা ভেঙে যায়। ঘরের মধ্যে জিনিসপত্র ছড়িয়ে ছিটিয়ে ছিল এবং আলমারি খোলা ছিল।

জানা গিয়েছে, সিসিটিভি ফুটেজে ধরা পড়েছে তিন ডাকাত। সোনার গয়না, নগদ টাকা, ল্যাপটপ এবং মূল্যবান ঘড়ি সহ প্রায় ৫ লক্ষ টাকার সামগ্রী চুরি করেছে চোরেরা।

পুলিশ ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছে তদন্ত শুরু করেছে। ঘটনাস্থলে থাকা সিসি ক্যামেরার ফুটেজ খতিয়ে দেখছে ফরেন্সিক দল। পুলিশ জানিয়েছে, শীঘ্রই অভিযুক্তদের চিহ্নিত করে গ্রেফতার করা হবে।

এ ঘটনার পর স্থানীয়দের মধ্যে আতঙ্ক বিরাজ করছে। এলাকার নিরাপত্তা ব্যবস্থা আরও জোরদার করার দাবি জানিয়েছেন তিনি।
